On our department, we train translators. After all, a translator is not only a professional in the field of literate and accurate translation from one language to another. This is a bridge connecting two nations, two cultures. The job of a translator implies constant discoveries and new acquaintances with interesting people. Today, the translator remains one of the most desirable professions in the modern world. And especially if it is a specialist, fluent in Kyrgyz, Russian, Chinese and English.
Our graduates do their master degrees with the help of various scholarship programs in the best universities of China and Russia, or instantly get a job, successfully demonstrating the knowledge and skills acquired at our university. Educational activities of the “Linguistics. Chinese language” is conducted on the basis of a license issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, No. LD 180000183, registration number 18/0115, license validity period: unlimited
The curriculum of the program is developed on the basis of the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education in the department of 531100 “Linguistics. Chinese language”
In 2019, the “Linguistics. Chinese language” program was successfully accredited for 5 years by the national Education Quality Assurance Agency “EdNet”.
Mission “Linguistics. Chinese language”: Education of competitive specialists with professional skills of translation and intercultural communication.
Vision of the program: transformation into a leading center for training specialists in simultaneous translation in the Central Asia region.
Educational goals
The main educational goals of the program “Linguistics. Chinese language” supporting the general mission of IUCA, in working with students, aims to:
• train competent and responsible specialists with professional skills in intercultural communication;
• formation of personalities with informational and socio-communicative competences, critical thinking skills, honest, globally minded, aspiring to continuous self-education and self-improvement.
The results of degree in the program “Linguistics. Chinese language “correspond to the educational purposes. Upon completion of training Our Graduates gain:
• Proficient in communication skills in all languages taught at the university, including Mandarin;
• the skills of global thinking, understands the history, culture, traditions and customs of the Chinese people;
• the skills of interpretation and translation of various types and genres;
• methods of searching, processing and analyzing information for use in professional activities and life;
• able to navigate in difficult situations, independently make decisions, evaluate and take responsibility for their actions.
Graduate qualification.
In order to improve competitiveness in the labor market, a graduate of this field receives fundamental training in the field of linguistics and oriental studies.
This gives him or her the opportunity to realize his knowledge and skills, working in various public and private organizations operating in the field of science, education and culture, economic actors in industry, finance and international economic relations not only as a translator of Chinese language and practical a worker in the history, culture and economic development of the studied country, but also as an expert assistant, consultant in this field.
