On the 6th and 7th of August professor Mary Shepard Wong hold a seminar on professional journey and discussed fifty ways to career growth in education. The seminar participants discussed the opportunities for career growth and found out the key ways of pedagogical success, such as getting an advanced degree, engaging in and writing up research, as well as developing language course and establishing a language school. Professor Mary Wong demonstrated on her own example the career growth opportunities, for instance: starting from Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD degrees, research and publications to Fulbright scholar. Thus, Mary Wong revealed the importance of setting long-term goals and the ways of their realization.
At the end of Day 2 the participants visited Burana Tower a historical monument of X-XI centuries. Students of IUCA conducted a tour of Museum, excavation sites of the ancient city Balasagyn, which was the capital of the Karakhanid Empire.
