10/24/2020 at the International University of Central Asia (IUCA) was held an interuniversity student round table “Empowering women in education and in life”, which was also attended by students from both Osh State University and the International Kuwait University. It was noted that in our country not enough attention is paid to the study of the problems of gender inequality, what is the position of women in our country in modern economic, social and political conditions.
The speakers shared the results of their observations on the problems of women’s education, on the rights of women in the world and in the Kyrgyz Republic. Also, there were and remain feminized educational institutions that train specialists for health care, education, economics and law.
The students were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the American-Indian feminist poet Joy Harjo, and with her life-affirming lines “Perhaps the world will end at the kitchen table, but for now we are laughing, biting off the last sweet bite … / At the table we sing, we are sad. We suffer and repent. We thank ”(Perhaps the World Ends Here).
Speakers Shakhnoza Mashanlo, Anara Borombaeva, Aigerim Berkutbaeva, Saikal Muratkan kyzy, Zamirbek k. Izat direction “Linguistics. English language “showed a good level of their research within the discipline” Sociology in education (supervisor N.M. Zhumabekova). A lively interest was aroused by data on the differences in the ability to learn foreign languages between women and men.
The round table participants recommended several reports to the open press in the IUCA Collection of Scientific Papers.
