Tokmok International University of Central Asia (IUCA), together with the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (SAEPF), on October 6, 2020, organized an online guest lecture for students and teachers on the topic “Environmental aspects of waste”.
Leading specialists of the SAEPF and a representative of the UNDP project acted as lecturers.
This event is being implemented within the framework of the ERASMUS + EGEA project “Enhancing the Green Economy in Three Asian Countries: India, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal” and the introduction of the Waste Management course into the curriculum of the Business Administration department. Three Kyrgyz universities are participating in the project: Issyk-Kul State University, Kyrgyz Economic University and International University of Central Asia.
The topics of the reports were devoted to the issues of sustainable management of waste and secondary resources, recycling and disposal of waste, and also highlighted the main provisions of the Basel and Stockholm conventions.
The guest lecture was attended by students and teachers of the Humanitarian and Technical College of IUCA, the Kyrgyz Economic University named after M. Ryskulbekov, Issykkul State University named after K. Tynystanov, Kyrgyz National University. J. Balasagyn, Kyrgyz-Kazakh University, International University of the Kyrgyz Republic.
