License of educational program 580100 «Economics» is LD170000330, registration number 17/0175, 18.04.17.

 

1.The goals and objectives of the educational program 580100 «Economics» is defined with respect to the goals and objectives of State Educational Standards of Higher Professional Education and IUCA’s mission.

 

Goal: creating globally-minded responsible professionals who are able to integrate professional knowledge and skills to serve society and to work effectively in a variety of financial and non-financial organizations in Kyrgyzstan and abroad

 

Objectives of the educational program: to Prepare highly qualified specialists who

1) have:

professional knowledge of economics;

– leadership skills, the ability to work as part of a team;

– excellent knowledge of Kyrgyz, Russian and English languages

2) can work in

banks, nonbank financial-credit, investment and insurance companies;

– state and municipal Finance, Treasury, tax authorities;

economic, financial and analytical departments of enterprises of various kinds and forms of ownership

 

  1. Requirements of entrants of the educational program

Economics Program entrants who are Kyrgyz citizens are expected to have:

– secondary general education attested by the document of the state certificate and a certificate that shows that the entrant has taken the all-republican test (with threshold point not below the score determined by the Ministry of Education). The current threshold point of the main test has to be not less than 110 points;

– an average professional or the higher education supported by the document of the state sample (diploma).(I don’t understand this last sentence!!!!)

 

The Admissions Commitee of IUCA has the right to carry out additional entrance tests on professional orientation:

– interview;

– testing of mathematics

– testing of English (TOEFL) for the purpose of determination of English level

 

  1. Form of education: internal. Standard term is not less than 4 years.

 

  1. Curriculum. Study by students is carried out according to the State Educational Standards of Higher Professional Education in the Economics Program 580100 for the awarding of the academic degree «The bachelor in Economics» approved by the order of the Ministry of Education and Culture of KR of 14:05 2012, Registr. No. 69.

 

The main result of studying in the Economics Program’s Finance and Credit concentration will be receipt of the bachelor’s degree according to model of the of IUCA and the acquisition of the established competences.

The State Educational Standards for Higher Professional Education require the student to  receive 240 credits.

At IUCA for receiving bachelor degree is necessary to obtain 268-280 credits.

 

According to IUCA practice, about 40 additional credits are provided to students free of charge, from them 24 credits will be in disciplinesthat are obligatory for students of all educational programs, 16 credits will be elective courses for student.

 

The number of credits is unlimited for studying English. Students can be registered free of charge for different levels of English that are over the 8 credits of the state. requirement Until they reach a  TOEFL scoere of  420. These credits don’t join in the total amount of the credits.

 

Two diplomas are issued to graduates: 1) the state higher education diploma of the academic degree «The bachelor of Economics» and 2) the IUCA Institutional Diploma with a transcript.

 

In addition to the main specialty, according to the academic policy of IUCA. IUCA students  can receive a second additional speciality (minor).

 

  1. Requirements for obtaining the second additional specialty (minor) in Economics:
  2. The student has to receive the consent of the head of the department of their main specialization and the consent of the head of the Economics Department for training in the second specialization.
  3. The GPA of student cannot be lower than 2,5.

The general criteria for obtaining the second additional specialty (minor) in the Economics:

1) the minimum quantity of credits – 40;

2) the minimum assessment for receiving the credit is not lower than «C».
