First Virtual Session of the Virtual Cultural Exchange: A Successful Start to Cross-Cultural Learning
The first virtual session of the Virtual Cultural Exchange course successfully brought together students from STLCC and IUCA, fostering cross-cultural communication and enhancing English language skills. Led by Professor Daniel Yezbick and Senior Lecturer Leila Serikova, the session set a strong foundation for future collaboration and meaningful discussions.

On January 30, from 21:30 to 23:00, the first virtual session of the Virtual Cultural Exchange course took place, bringing together students from Saint Louis Community College (STLCC) and the International University of Central Asia (IUCA). The course, led by Professor Daniel Yezbick (STLCC) and Senior Lecturer Leila Serikova (IUCA), aims to foster cross-cultural communication, enhance language proficiency, and strengthen academic connections between students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

During the session, participants introduced themselves, shared cultural insights, and engaged in interactive discussions designed to deepen mutual understanding. With the enthusiastic participation of students, the session was dynamic and engaging, sparking curiosity about each other’s cultures and facilitating meaningful exchanges. Students discovered shared interests, held thought-provoking conversations, and gained valuable insights into global perspectives.

This collaborative program provides students with a unique opportunity to practice English in real-life conversations, develop intercultural communication skills, and broaden their global awareness. The successful launch of the first session lays a strong foundation for future meetings, promising even deeper discussions and enriching learning experiences in the weeks to come.
